NYC Green Codes Task Force Proposal Now Out!

The Green Codes Task Force is comprised of over 200 leading local and national industry experts that have worked tirelessly to evaluate New York City's building, zoning, health, consumer affairs, environmental protection, and other codes.

They have worked hard to identify impediments to green building, and to propose valuable improvements that would promote more sustainable practices.

Now they have released their report: Urban Green Council Report.

This report is the most comprehensive analysis of green building codes ever conducted by a municipality anywhere and contains everything from the groundbreaking (new rules for insulating all-glass high rises) to common sense: managing overheated apartments and requiring stores shut off their lights after business hours.

As this initiative moves forward, the Task Force will continue to work diligently with the Mayor, Speaker, and City Council to refine and improve these important recommendations.
