How To Donate
Build It Green!NYC is a 501c3 charitable organization whose mission is to facilitate affordable second-life applications for quality building materials with the purpose of generating green jobs and job training, supporting local environmental initiatives, and reducing our city's dependence on raw material consumption and landfilling.
Build It Green!NYC fulfills our mission through material donations from generous donors like you! We accept material donations via two methods:
Seven days a week at both our Queens and Brooklyn reuse centers. Large drop-offs must be approved and scheduled prior to delivery (more info below).
Monday through Friday, only. Due to high demand, BIG!NYC consider offers per requirements listed below.
All donations are tax deductible. Please click here to learn more.
What You Can Donate
Build It Green!NYC is primarily a supplier of construction-related materials, but due to the nature of our operations, we consider material donations of many varieties. For a better idea of materials that we traditionally accept, please visit our inventory page and search by category. Here is a list of materials that Build It Green!NYC DOES NOT ACCEPT.
If you are still unsure if your donation qualifies, please email DONATE@BIGNYC.ORG or call 718-732-4143.
Email Us Photos
Your request will be processed more efficiently if you email your offer with the following information. And remember, the more info you provide, the better we can accommodate your request:
- Details (total inventory including quantity, manufacturer, dimensions, etc.)
- Photos (REQUIRED to confirm condition)
- Cross Streets (of pick-up location)
- Building Access Info (walk-up, # of floors, elevator, hours of operation, etc.)
Build It Green!NYC reserves the right to refuse any drop-off donation that has not been pre-approved.
BIG!NYC is a 501c3 charitable organization. As such, all materials we receive as a donation are eligible for a tax deduction.
A signed digital Donation Receipt will be emailed to you within 7 days of receiving the donation. The tax deductible receipt will be an itemized inventory listing all the materials we received in as much detail as we can provide. BY IRS LAW, WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO ASSIGN A MONETARY VALUE TO THE DONATED MATERIALS - THAT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DONOR.
