In 2012 BIG!NYC:
* Diverted 1,200 tons of reuseable building materials from the landfill
* Donated over 57 tons of lumber to community & school gardens. That's 1,200 raised garden beds in NYC!
* Gave away $58,780 worth of materials to local organizations.

Compost Internships

BIG!Compost seeks enthusiastic individuals to join BIG!Compost for summer 2013.

Areas of Concentrations:

  • Drop-Off Site Management and Field Outreach
  • Sustainability Coordination at Events

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

  • Composting experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • A passion for urban agriculture, composting, or ecological restoration.
  • A strong candidate will also have experience in the following: community organizing, web-design/graphic design, volunteer outreach and recruitment, and social media.

Compensation

This is an unpaid internship.
